Sue Stevens and Nick Evans are evanStevens |

Sue & Nick come from remarkably similar artistic backgrounds. Both began playing and singing on the folk scene (in Nick's case this coincided with his rock band days), before drifting into the dark world of "pubs and clubs", where they gained several years worth of invaluable experience before the toughest audiences, then returned to folk venues around the millennium.
Sue together with Pat Hall founded the Lighthouse Folk Club in 2001, and Nick arrived as a performer there within the year. Casual musical collaborations at the club intensified culminating in their first serious "Tour" in autumn 2007.
A feature spot at The Eagle & Spur in Cookley on 05/10/07 was a successful dry run for an outstanding sell-out concert at Rushwick Village Hall on 27/10/07, followed by another very well received performance at The Woodman Folk Club in Kingswinford on 23/11/07. After a somewhat extended Christmas break they played another successful concert at Bromsgrove Folk Club on 27/03/08, most of which was captured on "film" by Graham Collins. On 10/04/08 they played a concert night at Common Folk in Pelsall and subsequently received this comment from Margaret Pickersgill: "Had
a great night, and I think I said it all last night and meant it. I
said to Steve on the way home, that if you were at Barry Yates' club
tonight, I'd go and see you again. Every one of your songs I love.
Your musicianship and presentation are excellent and if ever you
want a recommendation re. your on-stage performance and suitability for
a folk club, just use our names." Forthcoming gigs include: -------------------------------------- Wednesday 25th June 2008 at Rea River Roots, The Tower of Song Cafe Bar, 107 Pershore Road South, Kings Norton, Birmingham B30 3JX
Sunday 29th June 2008 at the Jug of Punch Folk Club, The Station Hotel, Station Street, Sutton Coldfield B73 6AT -------------------------------------- Sue has a duty of care to the Lighthouse on Thursday nights, but she can arrange for people to deputise whenever necessary. There is now a trend to encourage individuals to organise "house concerts" where friends and family are invited to attend an intimate musical evening in a private house, and this is one bandwagon that evanStevens are jumping on without hesitation. Their music is ideal for such occasions, and anyone interested is very welcome to discuss this proposition.
